The final year of the Dars al-Nizami program (the curriculum taught at Madaris/Seminaries throughout the world) is known as Dowrah al-Hadith. The entire year is dedicated to reading and studying the ahadith of the Prophet ﷺ. Students study and read the Six Books - Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Jami' al-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan al-Nasa'i, and Sunan ibn Majah - along with the Muwatta of Imam Mali. It is an absolutely beautiful and beneficial experience that provides students a taste and flavor of the ocean that is Hadith Studies.
The final year culminates in a graduation ceremony known as Khatm al-Bukhari. After having studied and read all of the narrations in Sahih al-Bukhari, they have a final lesson that covers the last chapter of this amazing work with a senior scholar from their own institution or a guest. This year, the final lesson will be covered by Sheikh Furhan.
Alhamdulillah, our 5th year Seminary students will be having their Khatm al-Bukhari on Friday, September 19. Everyone is welcome to attend and benefit from the blessings of such a beautiful accomplishment.
